The Vlakno Cave, depicts the Paleolithic and Mesolithic times, sometime around 11000 BC. Paleolithic strata, contain tools made of flint and bone, and animal bones from the Ice Age. The Mesolithic strata are rich in the remains of oysters, fish and sea snails, which speaks of rising sea levels amid the warming that followed the Ice Age. The most important find is that of a human skeleton, a cave resident, about 11,000 years old, the so-called "oldest Dalmatian". Exploration of the cave continues to this day.
