Soline is a small resort on the shore of the Solin Channel, with the entrance to the canal on one side and the Great Bridge (Veliki Most) on the other.

The first foundations of this town were laid by the Sršen family back in 1825. This little resort got its name from the salt production carried out by the Benedictines long before the village was even built. As the canal was, at that time, shallow, the monks would fill the natural pools on the shore with sea water. After evaporating, the sea water would leave a layer of salt at the bottom of the pool. The village's ecomony is based on fishing, but also on tourism.

Due to the peaceful scenery and the proximity of the Big Lake, this little resort is a popular tourist location.
