This old stone church of St. Barnabas is originally a Romanesque historic building dating back to the 12th or 13th century, while in the 17th or even 18th century it was enlarged during the lavish Baroque. In the past, this medieval church was noticeably lower from today and had two apses, which is a recognizable architectural detail of other churches in Istria at that time.
At the end of the 14th or the beginning of the 15th century, the wall surfaces of the interior of the church of Sv. Barnabas are decorated with magnificent frescoes with the theme of the life of Christ, thus following the events from birth to resurrection.
