Perched at the height of 880 meters above sea level, Perun is actually one of the lower peaks of the mountain Uchka. While it may not be the grandest it is perhaps the most interesting one. It was named after Perun, the Slavic god of skies and lightning (equivalent to the Greek god Zeus) and as such is an integral part of the mythic trail Trebishche-Perun designed to preserve the heritage of Slavic myths and legends. The peak is adorned with a wooden totem of Perun which serves as a symbolic representation of this god looking out in all four directions of the world.
