The first mention of this place in the area of today's Rector's Palace dates from the 13th century, when the fortress is mentioned. During the 14th century, the fortress was slowly transformed into a palace, following the example of the Roman and Venetian traditions. This beautiful place was the seat of the government and the prince of the Republic of Dubrovnik until the 19th century. In 1948, a cultural and historical museum was located in the Rector's Palace, which still testifies to the life of the old people of Dubrovnik. On the ground floor there are a dungeon, a courtroom and an office. Today, the Rector's Palace is also a place that exudes elegance and where various concerts are held in a beautiful ambience.

This is a Venetian-style building that could have stood in Venice

This palace is a combination of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque style. The interior of this place was breathtaking. The night view of the porch is stunning. The statues at this place was impressing. There was an art gallery at that time when we visited. The pieces of art that were being displayed at that time were both ancient and modern. I really loved it.

The buildings for the palace are beautiful and have a Renaissance style that captured my eyes when we visited the palace. The palace has an interesting history that we had the chance to learn about when we visited the place. When we toured the Rectors Palace we came across some lovely inscriptions that were remarkable to witness.

A beautiful palace, in the very center of old Dubrovnik, we really liked both the building and the museum that is located in it.
