Visible and situated on beautiful Stradun street, Orlando's Column is one of the most beautiful sights in Dubrovnik. Built in the 15th century, the Orlando Column is a symbol of freedom and Dubrovnik's independence. Orlando's Column is actually the figure of a warrior in armor. According to legend, it is about the knight Roland who saved Dubrovnik from Saracen attacks by beating them near Lokrum. Throughout history, Orlando's pillar was also a symbol of the Dubrovnik trade, so the people of Dubrovnik introduced the term "Dubrovnik elbow" on its right elbow, which is 51.2 cm long.
