Grimani-Morosini Castle is the best preserved castle on the Istrian peninsula and the largest building in Svetvincenat.
The first fortress was built at the beginning of the 13th century, but the turbulent years of war resulted in frequent destruction.
Over the years, the original appearance of the castle has changed, and so have its owners.
The present form of the castle was given in 1589 when Marino Grimani restored it from arson according to the design of Venetian architects.
All four main entrances to the city were controlled from the towers. Above the entrance is the coat of arms of the castle, the current coat of arms of Svetvincenat, and the coat of arms of the Grimani di San Luca family. In the 19th century, the Grimani family left the castle to the bishops. At the end of the Second World War, the castle was burned down once again, but it retained its beauty by restoration, and you can see its magnificence even today.
