Glavica, a small hilltop above the town of Lastovo, is adorned with the remains of a fortress. Originally built by the Dubrovnik administration it was a small complex with the Chapel of St. John and several housing units. After it was mostly destroyed during the Lastovo uprising at the beginning of the 17th century, a new fort was built in its place in the early 19th after the French became the administrators of the Island. Nowadays, the remains of the fort have a civilian use: it is the location of a weather station. You can get here by following the walking trail from the town of Lastovo, and once on top, admire the view of the Lastovo Channel, the Korchula Island and the bay of Luchica.
