Vela plaža jedna je od najljepših plaža na otoku Krku, i zasigurno jedna od najpoznatijih. Duga je gotovo dva kilometra, odnosno 1800 metara i nezamjenjivi je i prepoznatljivi dio bašćanskog krajolika.

Sastavljena je od finog šljunka i sitnih kamenčića te je pogodna sa udobno sučanje i izležavanje. More uz plažu je plitko i time pogodno za djecu, starije i neplivače. Plaža Vela nositelj je Plave Zastave, internacionalnog certifikata koji se dodjeljuje mjestima koja ispunjavaju najviše standarde kvalitete, još od 1999. godine. Ovo znači da je plaža dostupna i invalidima te opremljena toaletima i tuševima.

Uz već standardnu mogućnost iznajmljivanja ležaljki za plažu i suncobrana, uz plažu ćete naći cijeli niz restorana i kafića. Uz bogatu ugostiteljsku ponudu moći ćete se ugodno smjestiti uz obiteljski ručak, ili samo otići na sladoled i kavu.

Za sve one koji povrh plivanja i sunčanja žele dodatnu zabavu, na plaži se mogu iznajmiti SUP daske i madraci za vodu, a moći ćete se zabaviti i parasailingom. Za njamlađe tu je dječje igralište i aqua park, dok se i veliki i mali mogu zabaviti vožnjom malim turištičkim vlakom.

Do plaže možete doći autom, biciklom ili pješke (u blizini plaže nalazi se parking koji se naplaćuje). Na dijelu plaže dostupan je dolazak sa kućnim ljubimcima. Bez obzira na to kako se odlučite provesti dan na Veloj plaži nećete se razočarati ponudom, a ni prekrasnim pogledom na bistro plavo more koje se prostire prema horizontu.

This amazing small pebble and fine gravel beach was so cool to sunbathe on. It is easily accessible on foot or by car and it does have countless facilities and amenities. There are toilets, changing rooms and bathrooms. You can also rent a number of equipment for various beach activities and they also have bars and restaurants so you can grab something to bite or drink. There is also a kids’ playground so the kids get to do something other than swim in the sea water. There are water activities for grown-ups too! So naturally it is a very crowded place because of its popularity.

What i loved most about this beach is that it accommodates people with disabilities too, with the wheel chairas trail fitted everywhere in the beach. The beach restaurant had an ample space with a rich menu on offer for a family lunch. My kids enjoyed their time watching the aqua animals in the aquapark.

I went swimming on arrival at the pebble beach with the other and the cold water was what i needed for the summer vacation. Amenities are available and we rented shades that was great for everybody and teh restaurants offer good food that i enjoyed. We were entertained by the sporting activities at the beach and had the best time of our lives.

I felt comfortable sunbathing on the terrain of the beach that has small pebbles and fine gravels. It was easy to access the sea water because the sea is shallow. Had a good time swimming here.

If you feel the sea is too crowded for you there is a swimming pool for swimmers and a sports facility for different games. We were a group of travellers travelling together in groups and the beach bars were many and big enough to accomodate large numbers.
