Situated on the shore of the port of Vis is a mini peninsula Prirovo with a lovely beach of the same name, the most popular of the town’s beaches. It sits under a fine shade of the tamarisk trees, covered with pebbles, and it is about one hundred meters long. It is equipped with showers and deck chairs for rent. In its vicinity you’ll find several bars and restaurants, as well as volleyball and football courts. A charming promenade stretches along the entire peninsula, convenient for strolling as well as sunbathing. If you want to take a short break from swimming and sunbathing, visit the nearby Franciscan monastery, built in the 16th century on the site of the ancient Roman theatre. The seabed of the peninsula is another interesting archaeological site: the remains of the medieval port of Vis are still visible there, and will make a nice sight while snorkeling.
