Monastery of St. Pavle Pustinjak

The monastery was named after the patron saint of Pauline monks, who previously stayed in the church in the same place and later went to Hungary. Four hundred years ago the monastery was like an infirmary and there they cared for people with plague, and therefore still an island with his name Galevac or Shkoljich is sometimes called Lazaret.
The monastery once had a famous printing house where Croatian patriotic texts were printed with the help of the Croatian revivalist Ivo Prodan. After the First World War, the printing house had to be relocated due to Italian rule at the time, but later returned and operated for decades. Unfortunately, after the Second World War, Tito's pertizans destroyed the printing house, but its remains still remain on the territory of the monastery. Ivo Prodan himself was buried in the cemetery next to the monastery.

The history of the monastery sent a spark to my heart as an historian. It was delighting to learn of the great history of the Monastery especially how the monastery was used like an infirmary. I was honored to see where the famous Ivo Prodan was buried, whose cemetery is next to the monastery. We took a walk around the plenty rooms in here as we marveled at the beautiful stonework carved into the mountainside. While inside, we had a view of the valley. It was a great experience.

I visited the place with my famil and it was worth the visit. We witnessed the marvelous beuty that the are holds with scenic views of the island. The tour took us through some fascinating things and the eye catching sculptures at St. Pavle were enjoyable . We also loved the paintings that occupied the place which were fabulous and the art work on the walls was top notch. We also went strolling around the monaster and visited the cemetar and the experirnce was unmatched. We had the chance of seeing some graveards trhat has an interesting history such as the monastery that dated back in time. I enjoyed the peace and calmness that was at the monastry and would loved to visit again and would aslo recommend a visit to the place.

We took photos of the amazing arts and paintings on the walls of the church. The walk through the old geezer was so relaxing and charming, it was an ideal place to calm my mind. As an art lover, i was amazed by the architectural designs of the buildings here. In the evening, the sunset set its dazzling rays on the building turning them very bright and a colour change to orange.Totally loved the place.

Located on an island, a boat ride is a must. I really enjoyed the boat ride. The monastery lies in ruins but one can still be able to picture its ancient architectural style and design. Visiting this place was magical. Seeing the view of the sea from the island was nice and it was an adventurous moment.

The history behind this place is impressive. It served as infirmary and later a printing press. The printing press currently is in ruins. I visited this church and its location and scenery was fascinating. It was a great opportunity for me to take a boat ride and it was a pleasant experience.
