Experts connect the archeological site of Velika Mrdakovica with the Liburnian-Roman settlement of Arauzon. The remains of residential buildings made of finely hewn stone joined with clay and plaster have been preserved. Some buildings had cisterns to collect rainwater. About a hundred graves have been discovered at the site so far, some of which date from the 4th century BC. The settlement was divided by streets and surrounded by walls of dry stone.
