The Count's Palace, which has now become the City Museum, is just a short walk from Shibenik Cathedral. The late Renaissance palace was originally built to serve as the governor's residence during Venetian rule in the 16th century. Today, the palace houses the city museum (Sibenik City Museum) with numerous local archaeological artifacts from the Neolithic to Roman times, including sculptures (some from the 7th century), a collection of coins and other various objects from the surrounding region.
