The Church of Saint Rocco

Built in the late 16th and early 17th centuries this pretty little church is dedicated to Saint Rocco, the saint who, according to legend, protected the town from the plague.

It sits not far from the very heart of Biograd, surrounded by trees that provide a lovely shade around it. The interior of the Church is beautifully decorated with a gilded altar in the baroque style.

An interesting detail about this church is the way it was first mentioned: in the last will and testament of the wife of Ivan Senjanin. The wife - named Franica - bequeathed an entire olive grove to this church upon her death in 1653.
