The Church of Saint Agatha

This little church in Novigrad is a bit of a mystery. It is impossible to tell with certainty when it was built, but it is assumed that it was sometime between the 9th and 13th centuries.

It is a mix of styles, as well. Its three-nave structure has the character of the Romanesque period; some of the features show Carolingian influences and others are examples of local and regional religious architecture.

The interior is adorned with two angel statues in the late Baroque style and the altarpiece of St. Agatha. The church was restored in the period between 1993 and 1995 and makes for a lovely sight on a city walk through Novigrad, standing next to the grounds of the old cemetery.
