Located on the mountain Grabovica, just next to the village of Gradac, the peak of St. Elijah rises at 773 meters above sea level.

At this heigh you can expect a spectacular view of the Baćina Lakes, the valley of the river Neretva, as well as the Pelješac peninsula, the islands Korčula, Mljet and Hvar, and Gradac and the mountainside of Biokovo.

This great view no doubt prompted the German army to build military bunkers here during the 2nd World War, still standing today as a reminder of the military importance of this area.

You can hike up to the peak along the marked hiking trail that starts near the cemetery in Gradac, where you can also park your car. Alternately, you can park outside of the village Miljačići. The first part of the route will take you through a pine tree forest all the way to the marked bend. From here, the trail becomes slightly more difficult, but worth the forty five minute climb since the view will be very rewarding.
