Momjan Castle, currently dilapidated and overgrown with ivy, can hardly evoke the strength and richness of life that characterized it. It was built above the abyss overlooking the beautiful river Dragonja, today the natural border between Croatia and Slovenia. Located at 280 meters above sea level, dominates the valley Dragonje is separated from it by the Poganja stream.Momjan was first mentioned in 1035, and since then it has become an unavoidable place for all visitors, leaving them breathless with its solid and fortified appearance.Apart from its medieval castle, Momjan is also known as the Muscat Empire! After visiting the castle, sweeten your visit to this area in one of the many excellent wineries such as Kozlovich, Kabola, Sinkovich and Prelac.
