One of the symbols of Maksimir Park in Zagreb today is certainly MOGILA, a kind of memorial mound created in the middle of the 20th century. The tomb was designed by Aleksandar Freundenreich, and was erected by the Croatian Falconry Association in memory of III. Croatian All-School Rally held on the occasion of this historic jubilee in Zagreb from 14 to 16 August 1925. It was created on the site of the Umbrella Pavilion. It was built of lumps of earth brought from as many as 155 places from various Croatian regions in which some significant historical or cultural event took place during the thousand-year history of Croatia. Objects from the Croatian cultural heritage, important books, newspapers, magazines and monuments of all falcon societies that participated in the construction of Mogila are stored in the foundations of the mound.
