Der Friedhof im Mirogoj-Park ist einer der schönsten Friedhöfe in Europa. Mirogoj ist nicht nur die letzte Ruhestätte der Verstorbenen, sondern auch ein wunderschöner Park und eine Open-Air-Kunstgalerie. Das Besondere ist auch, dass hier alle Religionen respektiert werden, nicht nur die christliche.
Der berühmte Architekt Herman Bollé entwarf den Friedhof mit seiner monumentalen Anlage, einer 500 Meter langen Reihe von Neorenaissance-Arkaden mit 20 Kuppeln. Es handelt sich um eines der größten Projekte des europäischen Historismus und eine wahre Galerie der Werke kroatischer Maler, Bildhauer und Handwerker.

The unique Gothic architecture make it an amazing place to visit and we loved the beautiful sculptures and the art places along the graveyard. Wonderful time.
