The main street of the city with a long history, in old documents it was also called "Ruga Magistra", "Via Magna", "Strada Grande". Today's name, Kalelarga, meaning Broad Street, appeared only later, and survived many different administrations, such as the Venetian, Austrian and French administrations. It is assumed that today's street was built during the Roman Empire, according to the principles of Roman urbanism. Kalelarga is one of the symbols of the city, we can say the cult space of Zadar, which exudes a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where visitors socialize, drink coffee, participate in cultural events, folk festivities and the like. If you are eager for news and information, trends and fashion, Kalelarga is the place where everything is learned first.
