Frane Petrich is a well-known and respected Croatian philosopher, and at the same time a historian who lived in the 16th century. The central square of the town of Cres is named in his honor and it is located near the Cres cape. Today, the square has many shops, restaurants, coffee bars and a somewhat modern fountain that completes the overall impression of the historic square.
