Four wells on a plateau across from the cathedral were built in the mid-15th century. Due to frequent droughts and sieges of the city, the decision to build a new cistern was made. The cistern and wells were in operation until the middle of the 20th century. The construction was supervised by the famous builder and sculptor Juraj Dalmatinac, known as the main builder of the Shibenik Cathedral. Various entertainment events are often held on the plateau.
