Bell tower of Vrsar

The Vrsar bell tower is located right next to the parish church of St. Martin.

Its design follows the structure of a Venetian bell tower often found on the Istrian coast. The lower or the bottom part is a sturdy voluminous section made of stone, designed to keep the entire structure stable. The central part, or the body, is tall and slender, its corners plated with stone, followed by the stone-plated top with large apertures intended for bells.

The 40 meter tall tower isn’t quite used as a bell tower - it houses an exhibition of old bells and serves as a viewpoint with the best view of the whole of Vrsar and its archipelago.

This stunning view extends from the hinterland of the area and its hills all the way to the Church of St. Euphemia in Rovinj.
