Rakovica is an area rich in natural beauty and diverse past. The municipality of Rakovica is located in the southernmost part of Karlovac County, right next to the border of the beautiful Plitvice Lakes National Park. The municipality includes as many as 26 settlements located on the banks of the river Korana and thus connects the economic and social life of the national park and Rakovica. The first records of Rakovica date back to the Middle Ages.
