Lopud is the middle island of the Elaphite Islands. Its name comes from the Greek name of the island of Delaphodia, although the Romans who once had a settlement there called it Lafota. The island really has only one village which is also called Lopud and is located in the bay of Lopud. Sunj Bay - which is sandy - is located on the other side of the island. This little car-free island is absolutely perfect for those who want to get away from it all, want to spend a few quiet days or a week on a quiet vacation in the sun and just enjoy it. You can also use your time walking the beautiful island trails through its lush vegetation (especially on a walk to Sunj Bay where you can spend a perfect morning). It is also possible to rent bikes for sailing on island trails or kayaks to spend some time doing something a little more active on your holiday!
