Grozhnjan

The beautiful medieval town of Grozhnjan - a famous city of artists and music, is only twenty minutes drive from Umag in Istria. Its hill surrounded by terraces planted with old and fertile olive groves and vineyards is actually a sandstone elevation created by the action of two streams, Kanistran and Pistion. From Grozhnjan there is a magnificent view of about twenty surrounding Istrian villages, the valley of the beautiful river Mirna and the clear, crystal clear sea all the way from Novigrad to Umag. The small, cute, narrowly built houses and its pride-castle clearly testify to its rich medieval past and almost every door in this charming town has interesting stories to tell about ancient Graeciniana.

Small town on a hill, with a church, stone houses traditional for Croatian towns. When we were there, at the entrance to the town there was a sale with all sorts of antiques, it was very interesting to see, and my wife bought an old painted vase.
Maurizio
A very small place with only a few restaurants, but there are some interesting shops, quite authentic, yet in good condition.

I was thrilled to discover Grozhnjan as an artistic town. The old stone buildings have been restored splendidly to my amazement. Ancient buildings have also been preserved there.

During my last vacation to this destination, I enjoyed plenty of jazz music and live band performance, and I loved local delicacies served in the restaurants.

I bought the best olive oil in some store there and when I brought a jar home, my wife really liked it.

My family visited the artistic studios and galleries where we bought some handmade crafts. We got paintings and carvings, all made with love.

My husband and I decided to have our wedding anniversary in a church on the town and it was fabulous. Gave me the vintage feeling that we'll grow old together.
