Delnice

Delnice is the center of Gorski kotar and with its 4451 inhabitants is also the largest place. It is located in Delnichko Polje (valley) and surrounded by hills (Drgomalj, Petehovac and Japlenshki Vrh). An interesting fact about Delnice is that they are at an altitude of 698 m Delnice is the center of forestry and wood processing industry.The favorable situation on the main transit routes of the country has made Delnice an important center of tourism, trade and sports.Delnice boasts numerous walks on green and trim trails, as well as several protected natural and cultural assets in the immediate vicinity.The city has long enjoyed a reputation as a spa thanks to its mountainous climate which is considered to be medically stimulating (air baths). Therefore, Delnice is a destination recommended for athletic training at altitude, but also for active vacation, recreation or walking tours. The fresh mountain air, enriched with the scent of conifers, acts as a natural aromatherapy.
