Općina Darda smještena je na jugozapadnom dijelu Baranje, u Hrvatskoj. Udaljena je desetak kilometara od grada Osijeka koji je sjedište Županije. Darda je prvi puta spominjana u doba Rimskog Carstva, ali pod imenom Tarda. Pošto se nalazi na samo nekoliko kilometara od Murse-današnjeg Osijeka, Darda je bila nezaobilazna stanica mnogim trgovcima koji su dolazili s prostora današnje Rusije, Srednje i Sjeverne Europe.Nastradavši tijekom rata, Darda se do danas ipak uspjela razviti i veličati ljepote koje ima. Naime, u središtu Darde se nalazi poznati, očuvani dvorac stare mađarske obitelji Esterházyja, koja je uz dvorac posjedovala i crkvicu sv. Ivana Krstitelja. Pored dvorca tri su prekrasna jezera za kupanje, a sam dvorac najveći je kao takav u cijeloj Baranji.

Swimming in the beautiful lakes with clean crystal clear water is all i enjoyed during the afternoons. I love to watch the sunset rays dazzle on the water and even change its colour. The castle offered us with the great history about the hungarian family which also owned a church.

I took a tour to this place and found three lakes that were next to the castle. There were beautiful wild flowers growing around the lake and the view of craggy mountains at the horizon were breathtaking. I loved this views and the cool fresh air from the Lake.

First of all I enjoyed the recreational activity, swimming in the lakes nearby is both exhilarating, terrifying and very pleasant. In addition to this the castle takes you back to the past and it is a beautiful structure to look at. It is a wonderful place for all especially history enthusiasts.
