The infirmaries were built in the 14th century as one of the preventive health measures to protect the inhabitants of Dubrovnik during the Dubrovnik Republic, so it played the role of quarantine in the past protecting the city from a terrible pandemic - the Black Death, which spread from eastern China to Europe. It is an impressive complex composed of ten big halls. They are located in the eastern part of the entrance to the Old Town by Ploče. Today, Lazareti is a place where various cultural and entertainment events are held. Lazareti also has its own beach of the same name, which in summer is full of younger people and gives a beautiful view of the island of Lokrum.

The building does not look like a hospital, the atmosphere is quite romantic. I did not see anything special in the exhibition, it could have been more interesting to recreate the history of this place. Watching the signs on the walls is boring enough
