In the 16th century, all the world trade routes of the Republic of Dubrovnik merged and flowed through this magnificent palace with an impressive façade. Located on Stradun, Sponza Palace is one of the most beautiful and luxurious palaces in the city of Dubrovnik. It was built in the 16th century and with its splendor and beauty testifies to the wealth and rich culture of the old lords of Dubrovnik. Today it houses an archive with materials on the history of Dubrovnik and its area. Also, many events are held right in or in front of it (the opening of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival every year is held right in front of the Sponza Palace) and makes it the perfect place to immortalize with photography.
