Montokuc is a peak, 235 meters high, rising in the middle of the national park Mljet.

This spot in the park’s forest has been used by the island’s fire fighters an an observation spot, especially during the summer months when the fire risk is increased. The old observation platform the fire fighters used has been replaced with a new, wooden platform that doubles as a tourist site. It offers a fantastic view of the thick pine forests of the park, as well as both its lakes. If the horizon is completely clear you’ll be able to see the the islands of Lastovo and Korčula, and the Pelješac peninsula.

The platform is actually a small wooden pavilion, additionally statically reinforced to withstand hurricane winds.
