Lindar Fortress

The plateau on which the parish church of St. Mohor and Fortunato is located today is actually the area where the former Lindar Castle was located, or as the Lindar people say - "Forteca". In front of the castle was a deep ditch, which would be filled with water if necessary. The remains of the castle are actually visible even today: we will notice solid walls and towers if we carefully approach the edge of the plateau and look down. To the left, on the former northwestern round tower of the castle, which is now decorated as a small lookout, we are attracted by an old bronze cannon aimed at the valley. It is said to date from the time of Napoleon, however, dating back to the 16th or 17th century, and was erected on this site after the celebration of the construction of the new Lindar bell tower in 1906.
