Veliko Trgovisce, a charming place tailored to the family, was first mentioned at the beginning of the 16th century. Located at the entrance to Krapina-Zagorje County from the direction of Zagreb, along the banks of the river Krapina, it is well connected with the capital of Croatia and other centers of Europe. Throughout history, the place expanded and developed with the construction of the road and later with the construction of the railway. It is certainly worth pointing out that the oldest school in the then Balkans was founded in that area near the church in Velika Erpenja! Veliko Trgovisce is the birthplace of the first Croatian president, Dr. Franjo Tudjman, and in his memory his birth house and Memorial School with a memorial part and a gallery of paintings, as well as a library and reading room were renovated. This beautiful Zagorje place was chosen by many young families for life and a promising future.
