Trvizh, located on a hill near the town of Pazin, is represented with one of the specific depictions of the medieval towns of central Istria. Due to its urban core, airy street layout, it has been declared a protected cultural property as a cultural and historical entity. in prehistory, and the first written mention is when he belonged to the Bishop of Poreč in 1177. Since the 14th century it has been part of the Pazin principality, as an important point on the border with Venetian Motovun, and until the early 17th century was often the focus of border conflicts. The settlement was not surrounded by walls, but in its center was a massive defensive tower.
