The Church of St. Ignatius is a Jesuit church in Dubrovnik. The church stands out among many beautiful sacral buildings of the Republic of Dubrovnik.
The church is located on a square called Poljana Rudjera Boshkovicha. The square is accessed by a monumental staircase from 1738, the work of Pietro Passalacque, built on the model of the staircase of Piazza di Spagna in Rome, and thus reminds of the place where Romeo and Juliet fell in love.
The church is followed by the Jesuit College - a famous Jesuit college, and today the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium of Rudjer Boshkovich and a rich beautiful library (which today includes tens of thousands of volumes, including several incunabula).
