Der St.Stephen Platz
Der zentrale Platz von Hvar, die Pjaca, ist der größte Platz in ganz Dalmatien. Ursprünglich eine tiefe Bucht und später das Gebiet zwischen zwei befestigten Städten, Grode im Norden und Burg im Süden, wurde er im Laufe der Jahrhunderte aufgefüllt, bis er die heutigen Ausmaße annahm. Ursprünglich war er breiter als heute, aber aufgrund des Platzmangels innerhalb der Festungsstadt werden im nördlichen Teil der Pjaca, vor den Stadtmauern, Häuser gebaut. Im Jahr 1780 wurde der Platz vollständig gepflastert.

This square is right next to St. Stephen's cathedral, it is a perfect spot to sit and watch people. It is quite busy and it has restaurants, cafes and shops. I sat here while I was waiting for the church to open, it was a nice chill spot and meeting point.

At night the place is well lit with different colors and it looks superb. A place worth the visit.

The time we spent here with my family is a precious memory to us. My kids loved feeding the pigeons and crows. My wife on the other hand was delighted by the arrangement of the trees and benches around. My brother who is a design lover was fascinated by the exterior design of the Square especially the Concrete bricks. Myself i was amazed by the beautiful buildings around this wonderful place and the vast square.

We visited many famous sites such as St. Stephen Square, Karlskirche, and Schoenbrunn Palace. We also took night tours to explore the city, and do some shopping. There are many great restaurants in the city center and good transportation systems. The time we spent here is a precious memory to us and we wish to visit again someday.

The square offers great sights of the buildings around, it is also less crowded and the pool in the middle is lit in the night.

Stunning place with a beautiful church that dominated the square. We enjoyed our visit to the place and had some photos taken.
