The monumental building of the Franciscan monastery and the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Klanjec has been a secret for many years. At the end of the last century, the tomb of the Erdödy family was discovered in the bowels of the church. Expensive sarcophagi from the 17th century, by Croatian Ban Sigismund Erdody and the benefactor of the Varazhdin County Prefect Emerik Erdody, were restored in 1999 and 2003 and housed in a specially prepared crypt of the monastery, arranged for tourist tours.
