The National Museum of Modern Art (the so-called Modern Gallery) is actually an institution that performs museum activities in the role of a public service. The Modern Gallery presents to its visitors and introduces them to the rich Croatian fine arts of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. The museum is located in the beautiful historic Vranyczany Palace, built in the 1980s according to a design by the famous Viennese architect Otto Hofer in the center of Zagreb. In the permanent exhibition, the museum collection presents more than five hundred valuable works of art, which testify to the peaks of Croatian fine art of landscape, fiural and abstract painting from the 19th century to the present day.
