Monte Zaro Park in Pula is the largest park in the entire city. The park has an observatory, a staircase and a fountain. Of the plants planted, Mediterranean plant species are mainly represented. In the center, on a marble pedestal, in 1877, a monument to Vice Admiral Tegetthoff was erected surrounded by a lavish floral group. It was demolished in 1920, and in its place today is a fountain.
