Also popularly known as "molo longo" because it is about 1707 meters long, the Breakwater is today in the function of a kind of coastal promenade. The construction of the Breakwater began in 1872, and it was completed in 1888. In 1908, the Breakwater was extended, and during the end of World War II, it was significantly damaged. It had to be rebuilt again and rebuilding process was completed in 1961. Today, visitors can walk along this Breakwater or take a ride in a smaller electric vehicle.
