This beautiful palace, built in the 14th century, became the property of the Bettica family in the 16th century. The Bettica family, who allegedly came to Italy from Spain in the 12th century under a false name, grew into an influential and wealthy family in Istria. After many years of work, the renovation and adaptation of the Bettica Palace in Vodnjan has been completed. The wish of the inhabitants of Vodnjan to present their material memory has finally come true. The inauguration ceremony of the Bettica Palace was held on November 29, 2008. During the renovation of the palace, fragments of a Renaissance fresco were discovered on the second floor. The restoration made all the preserved parts visible, and the remains of the historical stucco were treated equally
