Otochka Suvara is a horse-powered mill, dating from the 19th century, today it is a protected cultural monument as the only restored and preserved building of its kind in Croatia and Southeast Europe. Otochka Suvara can be found on the coat of arms of the city. In the town of Otok there are credible data for eight suvars built during the 18th and 19th centuries. These are Galovich, Pavlovich, Djurkin, Sokalich, Matanov, Franjkov, Marinkov and Tomashevich or Klarina Suvara. Suvars were named after the home cooperatives that built them or after the owner of the land on which they were built. To this day, only Tomashevich or Klarina Suvara, which has year 1863 engraved, has been preserved, but it is assumed that it was built even earlier.
