In the magnificent 19th century Cosmacendi Palace near the Zadar waterfront, an excellent Museum of Ancient Glass houses one of Europe's largest collections of ancient glass artifacts. Among the many are rare Roman glassmakers, goblets and bottles found during decades of archaeological excavations in Dalmatia and Croatia. Significant are also several glass vessels used to hold perfume and oil, glass cups, which were once used in the earliest churches as part of the celebration of Mass, and small zucchini intended to store holy water. After that, be sure to bring the castle with a beautiful view of the Jazinska harbor.
