The Franciscan Monastery of St. Anthony the Abbot is located in the historic old town called Kladanac. The monastery was founded in the 11th century when it was a refuge for the then wealthy aristocrats.
Today, its role has been repurposed and it houses a beautiful gallery of antique oils on canvas with old motifs of the island of Rab from 1638.
Interestingly, the monastery is still inhabited by nuns who take care of the beautiful landscaped garden and make various traditional souvenirs.
