Basilica Urbana is the name for the main, episcopal church of Salona. The remains of the basilica show that it was a three-nave church with a semicircular apse. Construction began by the Bishop of Simferia in the 4th century, and was completed by his successor, the Bishop of Egzihia cum clero et populo (with priests and the people), as it is written on a fragment of the preserved mosaic. The church was dedicated to Christ.
