Fortress Tureta is a late antique square fortress on the island of Kornati. It is positioned on a hill, so navigation through the entire Kornati Channel could be monitored from it. It is the only preserved fortress from that time in the entire Adriatic, probably because it is outside the settlement, so the material was not used for the construction of other buildings over the centuries. Today it is in a state of neglect. Below it is the church of St. Mary, built probably at the same time as the fort.
