OPG Gambaletto with a successful tradition since 1996 has located its native olive groves in Rovinj, Istria. The primary activity of this family farm is olive growing, ie the production of top-quality, award-winning extra virgin olive oil. Olive groves number over 1700 Istrian white trees along with other Italian varieties Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo and Pendolino, and cover over 5 hectares of fertile land. Olives are harvested by hand, grown and processed traditionally, their production is certified organic (without the addition of any pesticides), and the oil is cold pressed. Their extra virgin olive oil Gambaletto is a muted yellow-gold clear color, with elegant fruity features of apple, unripe tomatoes and dried fruit. The oil goes well with seafood appetizers, mixed vegetable salads, marinated white meats, soups with chanterelle mushrooms, main dishes with molluscs, shellfish in sauce, and fresh cheeses such as provolone, mozzarella or caciocavallo. You can buy and taste olive oils in specialized stores, and in direct agreement with the family farm.
