Tvrđava Fortica nalazi se na planini Dinari iznad Omiša. Izgrađena je u 15. stoljeću. S tvrđave se pruža predivan pogled na okolne otoke Brač, Hvar i Šoltu te kanjon rijeke Cetine. Ta pozicija bila je vrlo važna za gusarenje, jer se s jednog mjesta moglo nadzirati veliko područje. Fortica je imala i obrambenu ulogu. U slučaju da bi Omiš bio opkoljen s tvrđave bi se bacile gromade kamenja koje bi uništile neprijatelja, ali bi i porušile grad. Srećom, do toga nije došlo. Do tvrđave se može stići uređenom stazom, a potrebno je oko sat vremena hoda.

Fortica Fortress is the best! I had a great time with my wife and children. The service is good, the food is tasty and the area is kept clean.

Fortica fortress is a wonderful place that holds the collection of exhibits from antiquity to middle ages. A historical arena. Educative and fascinating.

The fortress was beautiful to explore, it had amazing views from the benches as we made our way up to the fortress itself, and also at night it was nicely lit. Any lover of adventure should visit this place.
