Unikatan skladan spoj mora i sile Velebita te blizina NP Paklenica dovoljan su razlog za odmor u Starigradu. Posebno je zaninmljiva plaža Kulina, koju karakterizira kupanje u sjeni Večke kule koja datira još iz srednjeg vijeka. U blizinu su još i crkva sv. Petra, 14-16. stoljeće, utvrda Paklarić, također iz srednjeg vijeka, koja se nalazi na 121. metru nadmorske visine. Uz mnoge velebitske staze, posjetitelji će nabasati na Mirila, grobne spomen ploče iz 17. do 20. stoljeća, koji govore o pogrebnim ritualima lokalnog stanovništva koji su na ovaj način mjerili dužinu tijela pokojnika, a zatim od njih izrađivali mirile, koje su nakon ukopa na groblju posjećivali više nego sami grob. Osim duha povijesti, Starigrad je poznat i po raznovrsnoj ponudi sportskog programa za aktivan odmor, poput trekkinga, planinarenja, penjanja, biciklizma i mnogih drugih, i sve to u prekrasnoj prirodi koja oduzima dah.

The National park had a lodge which was affordable and provided a great service. The park rangers helped us with various gears that we were to use during hiking and also camping. We had a great time together.

Swimming under the Vechka tower was a new experience for me and i could see its shadow, very incredible. Later i would join the locals in the cycling competition which was really fun. I loved the experiences.

Starigrad has rich history of the churches and fortresses. I visited the old tombstone at Mirile and learned about the tradition and cultural funeral rituals done by the locals. Such a great place.

We came to this place for an active vacation We went hiking and mountain climbing. Our guide who was friendly showed us the way to the top of the mountain. The view below was breathtakingly beautiful. We took pictures and ate delicious food at a tavern on the mountain. It was an amazing time.
