Na hrapavom masivu Velebita Nacionalni park Paklenica nudi brojne outdoor mogućnosti za planinarenje, penjanje i druge sportove. Određen biološki rezervat UNESCO-a, park je osnovan kako bi zaštitio raznoliku floru i faunu, kao i same planine. Značajno zbog izložene bijele stijene na inače neplodnim planinama i oštro kontrastivnih zelenih šuma niže, Mala Paklenica i Velika Paklenica slave kroz planinski lanac, stvarajući svoje dramatične visoke stijenke. U parku se nalaze brojne vrste ptica i kolonije, čineći ga raj za promatrače ptica, a povremeno se bilježe divljači poput medvjeda i vukova. Ured za parkove nalazi se u Starigradu (StariGrad-Paklenica) i pruža sve što je potrebno za siguran posjet, uključujući karte i druge korisne informacije, zajedno s eksponatima i zahodi (ulaz je u Marasovići, malo dalje sjeverno). I took a memorable trip to Paklenica and I really had a wonderful time. I particularly loved visiting the beautiful caves inside the forests. The intriguing views were so charming. I cant wait to visit again.

My friends and I will visit this town for the 5th time. We always come here to enjoy rock climbing. There are large rocks all over and we always have a great time climbing up to heights of even 300m! I am looking forward to the trip.

Paklenica is a nice place for wildlife and bird-watching enthusiasts. My boyfriend and I had a terrific time watching the falcons, eagles, deers, bears, and even catching glimpses of wolves. I recommend this park to all.
